About the Course

MUDI Free Hajj School will cover everything you need to know for your once-in-a-lifetime journey to the House of Allah: from the history and significance of Hajj; the fiqh, the sunnas, the spiritual significance of the rites and the adhkar; to how to prepare for this momentous journey what to take with you, practical tips, and other modern-day issues pilgrims should be aware of.

Not being connected to the greater reality behind what we are doing can leave us with a Pilgrimage that is legally valid, but spiritually lacking in appreciation and meaning. MUDI Free Hajj School shall address both the letter of the law and its spirit, in the hope that his participants shall, in-shaa Allah have a basis to engage their entirety – body, mind, and soul, in their journey to the House of Allah.

The course content is divided into three Modules –

Module 1: Shall cover the historical background of Hajj and Umrah, its age-old centrality to the Abrahamic faiths, and the Quranic verses and Hadeeth relating to the Pilgrimage and its virtues. The aim of this section is to provide a grounding in the greater context—to help us appreciate the significance and momentousness of Hajj; to help put meaning into our journey by connecting to the greater reality behind the Pilgrimage rites.

Module 2: Shall cover the essential fiqh of Hajj and Umrah, expiations, issues pertaining to women, and related topics. The aim of this section is to help you ensure you perform a Pilgrimage that is legally valid.

Module 3: Shall provide a step-by-step practical guide of how to perform Hajj and Umrah in keeping with the true spirit of the journey. It shall cover what a pilgrimage looks like in practice, including the spiritual significance, Faraa-id, Sunnas, and adhkar associated with each rite. This section shall breathe life into the Fiqh rulings by showing how they are practically applied with their Faraa-id and Sunnas, and shall provide other essential practical tips for pilgrims in preparing for Hajj.

The course shall use a number of scenarios to ensure participants have grasped the fiqh and practical application of the rulings correctly.
